The helmet of the Austrian slalom talent Michi Kirchgasser will be embellished by a cute squirrel, for which Michi called out via Facebook. The German double Olympic champion Maria Höfl-Riesch chose a snow leopard, which also plays an important role in her own brand ‘Maria’. For her this beautiful animal reflects the combination of elegance and speed in an ideal way.

A playful and musical Tina Maze as a pretty cartoon character can be found on her helmet. The title of her song “My way is my decision” – is clearly also her slogan for the races as she seems to be unstoppable successful at the moment. Also the youngest Milka Ski Star, the Italian Elena Curtoni, was transferred into a cute cartoon character as well and glances with big brown eyes down from her own helmet.

The Czech slalom aspiration and animal lover Sarka Zahrobska choose a sweet elephant waving a Czech colored lucky clover. Tessa Worley also trusts on this very traditional lucky charm and chose a (French) lucky clover.

second half of January I spent at most in Austria. I did some training in Maria Alm, Fis races in Gaal and short training in small cute ski resort Kleinlobming. In Maribor last Sunday I didn’t do so good like in Flachau. It wasn’t simply my day … )) Just after the race we went for few days home. My friend Lucy (physiotherapist) and I, we were almost one month away, so it’s nice to have some days off at home after such a long time. Till gs and sl in Schladming (WSCH) I will do still some races and good training too, so I come to Schladming in a great shape .. ) I wish you many exciting experiences during WSCH in Schladming and good start to February 2013.

after few weeks I am writing to you again some new from our team. Behind us are two another slaloms. One in Zagreb at the beginning of January and one last week in Flachau. Both of them were night events which great atmosphere. I like Zagreb and Flachau very much and I look forward every year there again. In Zagreb I wasn’t to much satisfied but I took from the race many important experiences. Before World Cup slalom in Flachau I did two Europa Cup slaloms in Melchesee in Swiss. In Flachau I finished at 8th position what was for me really great I and whole my team was very happy. It was my first top 10 result after long time and it was amazing feeling for me. Now we train for slalom in Maribor which takes place this weekend. Keep your fingers cross for me again

after return from USA I spent a couple days at home than we went for training again. I was quite busy in Prague but it was nice to be at home.
Before next World Cup race which takes place next week in Sweden, we are at most in Austria. We train at Reiteralm just next to Schladming village. I also started in two GS FIS races in Leogang. On Monday we will fly from Zürich to Östersund. Last week we had here already a really winter. It comes almost one meter of new powder snow and temperatures till minus twenty. Really Christmas atmosphere … We had an opportunity at Reiteralm to meet team also from Jamaica … and I also met my small fans from Rohrmoos…

another great joy. In slalom race in Aspen I finished 14th! First run I went really good, in second one I did some mistakes. If somebody told me in September that I will finish in slalom in Aspen among top fifteen I hardly believed him It is so great. Aspen is beautiful … After World Cup we stayed in Aspen few more days for North American Cup races and tomorrow we fly after four weeks at home. I am really looking forward to have couple days for rest.

I have started my season with the first World Cup slalom in Levi. It was already a kind of victory for me to be in Levi and could start in the race. Really amazing feeling! My big wish was to be in the second run. 13th place … wau! It was much more than it. I and my whole team were so happy. Simply beautiful day One day after the race we flew to Vail, Colorado for training before next races in Aspen. We did a one day stop in New York. It was interesting day with many experiences. I was in New York for the first time. The best experience was ice skating in Central Park. Thank all of you who have kept your fingers crossed for me. You are great!

We started with some trainings, GS in Vail, double session GS/SL in Vail, GS in Loveland, SG in Copper, DH in Copper, and today GS in Loveland.. so is going pretty intense but great, feelings are good especially in GS and SG!

I am gonna try my best on Saturday —> Aspen, first time ever, I am looking forward! Then I am gonna train some slalom on Sunday, and after that I’m flying up to Canada, speed season is also starting!
