‘Scene of the crime’ !Whistler!

When you find yourself on a mountain top, but do not know which one. When you rise into the air and watch what your line will be. When endless steep is below you, endless overhanging , endless trails that open up different reefs, you realize that it is a true happiness to experience Heliskiing,!

Even as children, we were ecstatic when we were wading to the knees. Such days were rare, because the weather conditions in Europe are different. Here in Whistler ( Canada ) the ocean still throws a of snow in March, so the conditions are simply ideal. You can still feel the winter, the snow is dry, temperatures below zero. But not for much longer as spring is coming.

I miss such days which I have experienced here through the competition and the preparatory period, so I would like to thank the company Rio Tinto ( Richard and Jacquie Procopanko ) and the overall organization of the Whistler Cup, who invited me to this wonderful experience at my 20th. anniversary of my racing career. Also thanks to Jože and Marjana Šparovec, who took care of our well being.

It was nice to monitor children’s competitions, nice to see the differences, frustration and joy of the young future champions. The selection starts early for sure and I’m glad that the girls won a gold medal for Slovenia. Go team Slovenia!

When we were going to the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, I freed up my mind with the idea that we are going to the Whistler Cup, so reliving my feelings on the ‘scene of the crime’, such as WhistlerCupa and the Olympic Games is INFINITE!

Hello!
Yesterdays chat at MMC was very pleasant. I hope you felt at least a bit what I am actually interested in or who am I ( especially those that exhibit defamation through the media). All this controversy through the media bothers me also and I would wish that it would not exist at all. I would wish for a clean story. Unfortunately, I cannot affect other people who are creating a negative impact and create flair. However, I do agree that we must defend ourselves against lies and not allow ntruth to win, keep the head down and be offended on the inside. No, that is not the right way if you want to be successful. The thing has gone through so far that there is no ending in sight, because the media are interested only about this. For me and many of you, this is JUST NOT IT. I hope that we will find some clever solutions with our ski federation and allow for a better story in the future. If this will not happen, and “what we want – what they want” will continue, please just turn the page or … go to my blog, where you can directly experience who I am and what I am actually thinking. Welcome to my world, where only money is a mean for realizing your dreams. At this moment, when we are searching for resources for next season, plays an important role, but me and my whole team are the first that would want that would not be so. It is no accident that a certain song has been rushing trough my head lately … Jessie J – PRICE TAG.

About Anjia: On the initiative of a commentator Alja ( I would probably inadmissible forgot ) to write something about Anja Person who has completed her career, I wish her all the best, congratulations to the whole skiing career, thanks for her occasional mentoring and I want to say to her ( I doubt that she reads my blog ) that we will miss her and her whole team, with which we always had fun and laughs. Her fitness coach has also spoken to us in Slovene, wit the Gorenska accent. We were falling to the floor laughing. Imagine how it is when you say Bon Appetit to a Swede at lunch ( because they all understand some Slovene), and he surprises with a smile and a developed Slovenian answer: “Mind your own business”. Apparently he had good teachers! Anja was also a nicely upset when I made a joke on her behalf with greatest care with “Anca Pomaranca” ( “Anja Orange” ). She knew exactly what it means and had a mischievous smile! In short, beautiful and unforgettable memories, moments of great joy, and above all still a great deal of respect! I hope that she will come to check on us again sometimes in the future and for you another story about her, so you will love her even more!

Ciao!

I am writing this last post of the season, I am glad about my ski life, I had a lot of fun this first year with Milka, I love chocolate and I love everyone of you, I would like to thank you all for all the support you gave me during this season, when I was fast and when I was slow! This sport give me a lot of things, sometimes is tough but I always try to do my best, every day and every race!

I will work this spring and summer looking forward to the next season, I will be stronger and faster, just wait for me!

Hey guys,

We are now in Schladming. After 2 weeks on slopes at Ofterschwang and Are this is already the last week of this 2011/2012 season.
I got 500 world cup points this season so I can start in every events at the finales. So I’m at the start of the downhill training in Schlaming. It’s a bit rainy today but the slope looks good.

At the weekend the World Cup took place in Ofterschwang not far away from Kempten in Germany. It was so hot! Like at the beging of Mai and not of March. Organizers did their best but even it were the snow conditions very bad – logically it was +12! This Friday and Saturday last event before World Cup finalle takes place in Are Sweden. I am looking forward to Are. I have a such great memories… I have became a world champion 2007 there!

Form is good and Ofterschvang has hosted three matches at temperatures near impossible. Good thing that we are moving to the north, to Sweden, where it`s supposedly cooler.

In any case , it was a physically very tiring weekend and I am happy, that I maintained such high level of skiing. This is something new also for me.

Despite the fact that I am among the more experienced riders, I never scored such high sequence until this weekend! That inspires me and is pouring a lot of optimism for the future.

I am developing as an athlete and as a person!

Ah , this life, how interesting, unpredictable, and often tedious.

However, it seems that the way is right!

In Vorarlberg at the end of the week was so warm! It was like the winter is over. After two days of continuos rain I decided to go back to Reiteralm for training. I will stay here until weekend races in Ofterschwang. I hope that will be colder!

Hi everyone!!

After Soldeu, we had a nice trip in Russia.
I discovered Sotchi and I can’t wait to go back there in 2014 for the Olympics
Then we went to Moscou for a City event parallel. It was very tight but I was out at first run against Marlies (Schild).
Even though I was a but disappointed to end my night that fast, it was a lot of fun. And if we can do more of those events, it would be fun !
After 10 days in Russia, I was pretty tired. So I had three days off and three days of training in Lelex, a very nice place.

Now I’m ready for Ofterschwang !!

They always organize a top-level competition, and the value of sport is seasoned with their enthusiasm and attention, that they devote to athletes. You truly feel like a star there.

We are sorry that the wind blew downhill race away, but the Super G was superior! The track is very demanding and skiing it without any mistakes poses a great challenge.

I am sorry that this event is not on the calendar every year since it is truly at high level!
Congratulations to Bulgaria!

Sochi 2012

We got to know the course and also the circumstances, people and the systems. There is no kidding here! The police and cameras are everywhere. Safety is assured, sometimes excessively. I’m sorry that combination was canceled so there was no true battle for the Globe! Congratulations to Lindsay, who earned it!

The blow from the cameraman is slowly disappearing, but I am still shocked what happened to me. How is such a thing possible? But obviously, if you are working and fighting, anything is possible!

The important thing is, that I can continue with no major injuries. Today we are moving to Moscow. It is going to be a true battle there, parallel – one on one!

Something very positive! Photographer Enrico Schiavi, made some wonderful photos for Armani despite the snowfall. It was December, the day after the race in Flachau, when I used some free time to ski on powdered snow. With all the racing and trainings, this is exactly what I miss most …

We searched for suitable jump and winter idyll. Finally, I am sending you two photos that we have created, because I think that you’ve already been eagerly awaiting them!

We are currently at the venue of the next Winter Olympics in Sochi.
Unfortunately, the second downhill training was canceled today due to snow.
We all hope that tomorrow will be all according to plan!

Soldeu

Soldeu is very nice and large ski resort. The World Cup was there for the first time in World Cup history. I really like the race course. Unfortunately was whole weekend very strong wind. The first GS was cancelled and the slalom was rescheduled from Sunday to Saturday. After slalom in Kranjska Gora I was 16th again. Now I spend some days at home. The next World Cup I will be participate in is Ofterschwang, not far from Kempten in Germany on 3. – 4.3. I wish you beautiful winter days. Sarka

Windy weekend in Andorra.

I think Milka was overjoyed, that all three Milka girls created a triplet on the podiumu of Giant slalom and created a nice gift for 111 years. It was quite windy, challenging, wonderful atmosphere and very nice people and finally a winning performance from me.

Ah , I came up just a little bit short.

It seems to me the second places stick with me hard, but second places are also excellent and it is not true that even this can not be changed.

I believe !

Greetings from Barcelona … I have a really wonderful job that I get to see so many beautiful places of the world! Now to Russia! Hooray!
